elcome
to our new addition of the ACTS NEWSLINE.
We have had many exciting things going on within our organization in the
past few months.
New Office
Our new main office location is 9413 Apison Pike,
Suite 200, in Collegedale. Our mailing
address is P.O. Box 683, Ooltewah, TN 37363.
The office is a beautiful facility located at Four Corners above the Sun
Trust Bank. You may still reach us at our
same number. We have made this
transition after much prayer, feeling we can better serve a larger area through
a more centrally located center. Dale
Bass remains the Director and his office is still located in Ft. Pierce, FL.
New
Volunteers
We have some great new volunteers!
While
presenting a program at the Florida Living Retirement Center, we not only
received
funds for a new pizza oven, capable of producing 500 pizzas an hour, but had
over 20 individuals come for training at our Helpline site, to learn to receive
and route calls during a catastrophic event.
This is a tremendous blessing for us.
We were presented with a beautiful plaque and
official thanks from the North American Division Teachers Convention in
Nashville in 8/06, for coordinating 3400 volunteer students to save Bass
Academy and distribute 12 million dollars of donated supplies to the community
because of Katrina. It is also because
of your donations, that kept this high school from closing its doors
forever. They had their Grand Opening
Celebration on October 14, 2006.
Task Force
Workers
We have 3
new task force workers that joined us in September. They have been a great asset to us already, having received
forklift operator training, and learning how to drive our big trucks and operate
various other pieces of essential equipment.
They are presently on location in Waveland, MS,
doing long-term housing until December, and then they will travel to Key West
to assist with community outreach, emergency preparedness in the public schools,
and disaster mitigation in this frequently
affected
community. Each task force worker is
gifted in many areas; Kristi is in the IRR program at Union College, taking
Nursing, and is also an EMT. Chris is
from SAU, has great experience in skilled labor, and has been a great asset
with this housing project. Jackie is
also from SAU and has many communication and journalistic gifts. Please keep each one of these students in your
prayers as they donate 10 months to our communities. If you feel impressed to assist financially
with this new area of our program, you would be fulfilling a great need.
Prayer
Partners/Sponsors Needed
We have had the opportunity to utilize our newest
and largest tent for a seminar at Southern University, as well as using our newest
mobile sound stage. These newest assets
were made possible only through your generous donations.
We are in need of monthly sponsors to facilitate
this program during the year, so that we can be ready at a moment’s notice and
have the equipment and supplies necessary, already at hand. If you are interested in being a one-time
sponsor or a monthly partner, please go to our website: actsdr.com or call our toll free line @
866-558-ACTS (2287).
Wish List
Our
wish list includes: 2 ambulances, additional operating room equipment
for our emergency medical unit, which is run by the IRR program out of Union
College and under the direct supervision of several MD’s. The main X-Ray equipment has already been
generously donated by G.E. An Orlando
area dentist generously donated his office equipment for a mobile dental
unit. All that is needed is a used
MRI trailer/generator and funds for renovation so that this can be
used in an emergency, a mobile shower unit was found to be a much needed
item, as much of the community in MS hadn’t bathed in over 3 weeks before we
were able to construct a makeshift facility, the victims actually being covered
with mud and debris from the tidal wave that had washed away their homes and
belongings. Cost for both items: $210,000

Our motto is to educate and prepare “An Army of
Everyone”. By uniting with us, you are a part of this growing ministry.
